At least four times a year, TLS members are rewarded at their inboxes with a copy of the Labyrinth Society e-newsletter. It serves as a means of direct communication with the membership and provides an historical record of the Society.

We all know that labyrinth enthusiasts accessorize well. This year you can put all the jewelry and scarves that you no longer wear to good use. Earrings, bracelets, rings, cuff links, bolo ties? A pashmina or perhaps that favorite feather boa you found abandoned in the back of the closet? Well, here's your chance to buff and fluff it all up for a good cause! Take part in the TLS Jewelry Fundraiser at Gathering 2010 and donate used jewelry and scarves to benefit our organization. This year, the funds generated will be committed to the next major piece of our on-going web site upgrade.
It’s as easy as 1-2-3:
If you’re planning on donating, here’s what we need from you:- Come prepared with a list of the estimated value of the donated item(s).
- If you have earring cards or small jewelry boxes, please include them with the donation.
- Drop off your donation to the Jewelry Gypsy Check-In Table located next to the registration desk.
What's more? Donation doesn't have to be all you do to serve this wonderful cause:
- The Jewelry Gypsies need your help at the vending table! Come have fun with us as we sell all of this wonderful glitz for a good cause. Contact Hallie Sawyers to sign up!
- And don’t stop there: consider browsing the donated merchandise and find something 'new-to-you' to buy at a very reasonable cost!
All proceeds will be donated to TLS, so please help support our organization!
We look forward to seeing an endless parade of incredible people wearing fabulous bling that they bought at our table.

TLS is seeking an enthusiastic person who loves interacting with people to assume a newly-created volunteer position. This position is an opportunity to work closely with the leadership team of The Labyrinth Society to accomplish the goals of the organization. The position description is included below. Please contact Ellen Schultz, Membership Chair, if you are interested in volunteering for this position.
Volunteer Coordinator Position Description
The Volunteer Coordinator supports the mission of The Labyrinth Society by overseeing the work of volunteers in the society. As volunteer needs are identified by the Executive Committee or chairs of board committees, these needs are communicated to the Volunteer Coordinator. Using a list of identified volunteers or through the recruitment of new volunteers, the coordinator matches the assignments with appropriate individuals.
In addition, the Volunteer Coordinator will:
- Generate interest in volunteer projects among TLS members;
- Coordinate with committee chairs to identify training needs required to complete specific projects;
- Clarify responsibilities included in identified projects;
- Supervise volunteers in the completion of projects.
Working with the Membership Chair, the volunteer coordinator will track volunteer hours and develop and implement strategies to recognize the contribution of volunteers.
Although the Volunteer Coordinator will work most directly with the Membership Chair, the coordinator will interface with a variety of board members as needed to facilitate completion of volunteer projects.

Very soon, TLS members will gather in New Harmony, Indiana for the TLS Annual Gathering, November 12-14, 2010. This year's theme, "New Harmonies in the Labyrinth" offers many exciting opportunities for meeting new labyrinth enthusiasts, connecting with familiar TLS friends, and enjoying the many activities offered in this historic setting.
Sometimes known as ‘The Thin Place’ between earth and sky, New Harmony is an active cultural town with a rich history of Wabash Indian culture and two early utopias. With a Harmonist labyrinth begun in 1820 and a beautifully landscaped Chartres Labyrinth built in 1989, New Harmony is a natural place of labyrinth tradition.
The Gathering Schedule and other information is now available online, where you can also search for workshops and read more about this year's featured speakers.
Don't forget the exciting Pre- and Post-Gathering activities offered to enrich your experience more fully.
We hope to see you there!
