Weaving New Songs through Drum Making
with Lisa Gidlow Moriarty

Making drums is a spiritual process that gives new voice to the materials and celebrates earth’s heartbeat. Participants each made a 12” frame drum and drumstick from sustainably sourced deer hide and wood. In the process we  offered gratitude to the sources of the materials used. Deer medicine connects to our heart energy and the feminine qualities of wisdom and love. We discussed decorating, and use in drum circles, labyrinth walks, and ceremonies. The newly constructed drums were ready for use during the weekend.
