Volunteer Coordinator Needed

TLS is seeking an enthusiastic person who loves interacting with people to assume a newly-created volunteer position. This position is an opportunity to work closely with the leadership team of The Labyrinth Society to accomplish the goals of the organization. The position description is included below. Please contact Ellen Schultz, Membership Chair, if you are interested in volunteering for this position.

Volunteer Coordinator Position Description

The Volunteer Coordinator supports the mission of The Labyrinth Society by overseeing the work of volunteers in the society. As volunteer needs are identified by the Executive Committee or chairs of board committees, these needs are communicated to the Volunteer Coordinator. Using a list of identified volunteers or through the recruitment of new volunteers, the coordinator matches the assignments with appropriate individuals.

In addition, the Volunteer Coordinator will:

  • Generate interest in volunteer projects among the members;
  • Coordinate with committee chairs to identify training needs required to complete specific projects;
  • Clarify responsibilities included in identified projects;
  • Supervise volunteers in the completion of projects.

Working with the Membership Chair, the volunteer coordinator will also track volunteer hours and develop and implement strategies to recognize the contribution of volunteers.

Although the Volunteer Coordinator will work most directly with the Membership Chair, the coordinator will interface with a variety of board members as needed to facilitate completion of volunteer projects.
