¿Habla español – TLS DVD to be translated into Spanish!

Did you know approximately 406 million people speak Spanish as a native language, making it second only to Mandarin in terms of its number of native speakers worldwide?

Sixty million people speak Spanish as a second language, and 20 million students learn it as foreign language. Imagine being able to effectively reach this percentage of the world’s population with information about the labyrinth. That is exactly what TLS is undertaking. Spanish is one of the six official languages of the United Nations, and TLS is about to make it one of the official languages of its very own DVD.

Translation of the DVD is a long-awaited and fondly held intention. In fact, translation into many different languages is the ultimate goal. We are beginning with Spanish as the first phase of translation and moving forward as time, volunteer support, and finances allow.

Thanks to TLS members Ronald Esquivel and José Cuesta, the DVD transcript has now been translated into Spanish! Next comes the work to manufacture a new Spanish DVD proof, master, and cover, as well as other aspects of production that will require funding.

We would like to extend an invitation to think of TLS as you consider your-end-of-year tax deductible donations, secret Santa leanings, stealth donator desires, and charitable giving graciousness. If you would like to make a contribution toward this aspect of the DVD, please follow the links to Donations found on the TLS website and specify your intention.

And if you are interested in becoming a part of the DVD translation committee, please make yourself known! Hallie Sawyers, Education Outreach Chair, is eager to talk with you and put you to work.
