Biography
Celebrating that creative edge between the branches of words and movement expression, Barrie interweaves her background in arts center management, event designing, theater direction, choreography, and ritual-making to facilitate workshops and retreats nationwide on a variety of themes. A long-time educator, avid traveler, accomplished pianist and labyrinth facilitator, Barrie has most recently focused on the parallels of Native American and Celtic spirituality and their adaptation to the labyrinth journey. Her dozen pilgrimages to the 13th c. Chartres Cathedral labyrinth in France and others worldwide have inspired continued deep passion for her labyrinth work. She has initiated several labyrinth ministries in different cities in the Midwest, North and Southeast and has facilitated numerous labyrinth-focused Celtic and Tree-themed retreats, online Qualifying Workshops for Veriditas, and mini-pilgrimages. As Faculty, Council and Advanced Certified Labyrinth facilitator through Veriditas, Barrie finds sacred spaces everywhere.
