Dreaming Creation on the Labyrinth

The labyrinth is a powerful ground for gathering.  Its meditative path, its circular form, its history as a portal to the land of the soul, provide people with a way to come together communally.

Chanting haunting melodies with drum and musical accompaniment has been a way for our indigenous brothers and sisters to enact the rituals of their traditions for all time.

Viewing beautiful images stirs the imagination.

Understanding the power of imagination and dreaming has proven to be an important intellectual advance of our time.  As we explore the notions of collective imagining or "Dreaming" in the Aboriginal sense of that word, we encounter an important and often forgotten human skill.

This workshop will begin with an explanation of these three notions, citing literature about "dreaming," ritual formation and the importance of the labyrinth as an archetype of wholeness, path, and gathering.  We will then learn a simple and effective chant that attunes us to the various ecosystems of our planet and make the intention to "dream" all the aspects of creation into our midst.  We will then walk labyrinth while a 30 minute slide show of Warren Lynn's images play on a screen.

This workshop is designed to appeal to the mind, heart, and spirit, and to restore our ability to fully participate in Dreaming Creation.
