Labyrinths as Three-dimensional Architecture and 21st Century Contemplative Structures

The presentation will begin with an introductory lecture on the history and development of the idea and sharing the proof-of-concept-models. Rules of development will be noted with several different models and morphs of classic labyrinths. Possible uses of the models will include a “healing arts center” and a “contemplative memorial space.” Adjustments will be considered for circuit pausing in the midst of trees and flora. We will consider an interior space where private meeting and celebration can occur. Audience discussion will be encouraged in order to fine-tune the designs and hopefully bring together enough interest to result in some organization or town sponsoring what may be the first “3D Architectural Labyrinth.”
