World Labyrinth Day is an annual event sponsored by The Labyrinth Society as a worldwide action to “walk as one at 1” local time to create a rolling wave of peaceful energy across the globe. Every year on the first Saturday in May thousands of people around the world participate in this moving meditation for world peace and celebration of the labyrinth experience.

World Labyrinth Day is an international annual event founded by The Labyrinth Society (TLS) in 2009. World Labyrinth Day in Educational Settings was initiated by the Australian Labyrinth Network (ALN) in 2019 in collaboration with TLS. In 2021, TLS and ALN also partnered with Veriditas and Legacy Labyrinth Project to bring together engaging events, labyrinth-based research, helpful resources, and a vibrant new website dedicated to World Labyrinth Day. In 2022 on, this collaboration continued with pre-World Labyrinth Day events, updated resources, and the Big Connection 2.0 research project.
World Labyrinth Day in Educational Settings – 2 May 2025 (Friday before WLD)
We encourage teachers and parents to explore labyrinths with children and teens as a creative activity, calming and centering space, and walking meditation. Labyrinths have been created and walked by people of all ages as a mindfulness activity, to focus, increase connectedness, calm anxiety, quieten head chatter and for mental/emotional well being. Many ways to participate:
- Walk a labyrinth at 1:00 p.m. local time to help create a rolling wave of peace passing from one time zone to the next around the globe.
- Walk alone or with others observing all applicable health protocols.
- Build a permanent or temporary labyrinth.
- Use a finger labyrinth.
- Create labyrinth art.
