Biography
Katie is a highly connective teacher and retreat leader specializing in ancient contemplative wisdom practices and evolutionary spirituality. With an MSW focusing on group work, she has built lasting communities centered on Parent Mindfulness, the Labyrinth, the Way of Council, Mindfulness Meditation, and Centering Prayer.
She, along with her husband, Julian, teaches courses on Evolutionary Spirituality. She also regularly shares her love of the labyrinth with teenagers in educational settings and has been called to lead labyrinth walks with adult communities experiencing grief.
Katie pivoted from a successful corporate career to earn an MSW with a focus on group practice. At TLS, she serves as a Board Member, Regional Representative, and Chair of the Nominating Committee. She is an Advanced Veriditas Labyrinth Facilitator, serves on the Veriditas Council, is the founder of Labyrinths of Greater Los Angeles Network, and is a Board Member of HSRCenter. As the mother of two young adult men, she is committed to getting boys and men involved in contemplative practices as well. She and her husband are passionate hikers and travelers. Drawing from her belief that the same Source, innate knowing, or God resides at the heart of all great wisdom traditions, Katie creates innovative retreats that resonate with both the spiritual-but-not-so-religious participants and those in traditional religions. Her integrative approach weaves diverse spiritual practices to help participants connect with their inner divinity, higher source, and with the wisdom of the group.
