This article identifies the components of wellness. Wellness is compromised of the connection between mind, body, and spirit. The author identifies that this connection creates a sense of wholeness and balance within our bodies and lives. One aspect of getting this balance is through contemplation. Contemplation is the idea of drawing attention to something and connecting to our spirit. This can be done by walking, running, talking, reading, listening to music, or pray. Meditation helps us to relieve stress and anxiety. It also has health benefits which can improve blood pressure, breathing, and reducing pain. Mediation helps us to reach harmony and bring balance. Lastly, walking a labyrinth helps to relax us and bring about mindfulness. It also helps to connect us with nature and our surroundings. They state that the labyrinth is a spiritual tool that helps to quiet the mind, reduce stress, and open the heart. It is a form of walking meditation.
