Labyrinths in the Schools for Creativity and Peace

Based on the presenter’s labyrinth workshops in local schools, this presentation will relate traditional subjects such as language, math, art, and science, and non-traditional subjects, such as creativity and peace to educational psychologist’s Howard Gardner’s Nine intelligences. By exploring his theory of multiple intelligences, one can discover one’s dominant intelligence that stimulates creativity and peace. People of all ages, races, disciplines, institutions and cultures can find the path to peace: “Diverse Journeys on a Common Path.”

Activities will include a Power Point Presentation, and a lesson plan that includes: making “Guidelines for Peaceful Labyrinth Walking;” forming a time line with labyrinth designs worldwide; walking a canvas “Rainbow Labyrinth,” with music to express feelings, make decisions, resolve conflicts and make peace wishes; making “Labyrinth Journals” with writing and designs in many media; painting with handprints a canvas “Hands of Peace” labyrinth.
