This workshop will give participants the opportunity to practice installing temporary labyrinths using various materials to give them the confidence to use labyrinths for their personal use, workshops, or other events.
A general review of seed patterns and the structure of medieval labyrinths will be our map to success. A few guidelines for creating organically will be described. Participants will be encouraged to create freestyle using the provided materials, and will experience the satisfaction of working in small groups to complete a project. Time permitting, we will walk the labyrinths and discuss the process.
A short introduction and overview of easy-to-construct labyrinths will be followed by participants dividing up into small groups and choosing a labyrinth pattern and “ artistic medium.” Participants will work together to create several walkable and at least one tabletop labyrinth.
