Pilgrimage and Perambulation: The Sacred Journey to Centeredness within the College Labyrinth

The college search and application process for American high school students frequently evokes a variety of conflicting emotions. This study considers this process as a sacred journey or pilgrimage and is structured according to the three movements of the labyrinth: entering in, arriving and receiving counsel at the center, and returning. The Chartres labyrinth is discussed throughout the paper.
