The Transformational Leadership Center (TLC) is a Rwandan nonprofit organization which focuses on sustainable community development and poverty reduction for a peaceful future. One of our programs is the Children’s Peace Libraries. We began to create Children’s Peace Libraries in 2009 as a way to provide peace education to children in the community and encourage reading among children. Currently we have six (6) libraries located in different districts. These libraries are focused on developing both a culture of reading and a culture of peace in the children. The libraries have books of all levels and are available in English and Kinyarwanda for children to read and borrow. Children’s Peace Libraries also has organized programming such as Read Aloud, Peer Mediation training, Peace Labyrinth, peace debate and peace clubs.

Each year the International Day of Peace (IDP) is observed around the world on 21 September. The UN General Assembly has declared this as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, through observing 24 hours of non-violence and cease-fire. This year’s theme is Actions for Peace: Our Ambition for the #GlobalGoals. It is a call to action that recognizes our individual and collective responsibility to foster peace.

TLS Community Workshops

The Labyrinth Society (TLS) offers Community Workshops designed to welcome, inform, and inspire. Hosted on Zoom, these workshops enable labyrinth enthusiasts to come together around an exciting array of topics through presentations, group discussions, and more. Please share these opportunities with friends, family, and others in your circles who might be looking for community, discovery, and transformation. Proceeds benefit TLS General Operating Funds.

TLS has been serving the worldwide labyrinth community since 1998 by supporting all those who create, maintain, and use labyrinths, and by providing education, networking, and opportunities to experience transformation.
